2011 Race Results

All “Keel and Ryles Holiday Races” and several other Elite Races in 2011 will be a part of the points races for the all new Clover Glove (Elite Runner) Award. All races included in this program will be part of the Georgia Run and See Grand Prix Series. The Awards:All runners who accumulate at least 71 points will receive a Clover Glove for the left hand. All runners who earn 141 or more points will receive the matching right-handed glove. Do understand that these will be high quality cotton gloves costing as much as a $1 in reputable stores. They will have a Clover on them and when worn they will distinguish you as an Elite Runner.

In addition to the Glove Awards, the overall, master, grandmaster, senior grandmaster and youth runner male and female will receive some appropriately tacky award as well. In addition to these fine awards, there will be a scholarship presented to a 4-H member in the name of the top overall runner. (Note—even though we plan to run a race or two in 2011, neither Keel nor Ryles are eligible for the top awards.) Points are awarded to the top ten runners in each 5-year interval age group. 10 points for first, 9 for second, etc. We will make an exception in that if there are more than 10 runners in an age group and you finish 11th or worse, we will feel sorry for you and give you 1 point. The point total for awarding the gloves was determined by a very complicated mathematical formula –We took a suggestion from one of the Elite runners that said to count 75% of the races and count as if a runner finished 2nd in each race. Currently we have 21 races on the Clover Glove Elite Runner Series. 21 races X 75% = 15.75 x 9 = 141 POINTS. Dates for races with stars are certain. Other race dates are tentative. If we have less than 21 races in the series, we will adjust the points for awards based on the formula stated above.
